Senior Peyton Heermance was named a 2025 National FFA Agricultural Proficiency Award Finalist in Veterinary Science last week. Heermance will travel to Indianapolis to represent California in the 98th National FFA Convention & Expo scheduled to begin on October 29, 2025.
Since becoming the California FFA State Veterinary Science Proficiency Award state champion in April, Heermance pursued and qualified at the national level. Now a top-four finalist in the nation in his respective award area, he will compete against applicants from Illinois, Oklahoma and Ohio for the national title.
“Agricultural Proficiency Awards honor FFA members who, through supervised agricultural experiences, have developed specialized skills that they can apply toward their future careers,” per the National FFA Organization.
