Position(s):     Wellness Coordinator  

Work Year:   183 workdays; 6.5 hours per day; 5 days per week

Start Date:     Remainder of the 2022-2023 school year

Salary:           Range 8; $18.65 - $20.51, Depending on Experience  

JOB DESCRIPTION

Under the supervision of the School Site Administration, and collaboration with the Wellness Team (Counselor, Psychologist and Administration), the Wellness Coordinator will provide supports for the Wellness Room by greeting and triaging students; liaising with community partners; providing organization support for Wellness-related services, school events and partnerships; and assisting with documentation and data collection.  

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education:   High School Diploma.  Possess an Associate of Arts (AA) Degree or higher or have completed 48 college units.  

Experience:    

  • Experience providing support services to teens preferred
  • Additional training desired in child development, special education, disabling conditions, trauma, behavior support strategies and Autism Spectrum Disorder is desirable.  

Knowledge of/Ability To:

  • Ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Oversee day-to-day Wellness room flow and triage of High School students
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing
  • Effective listening skills
  • Effective conflict resolution skills and the ability to deal with confrontational situations in a positive manner
  • Effective collaboration and problem-solving skills with working with colleagues and community partners
  • Take initiative and provide self-directed leadership within the Wellness Room
  • Mastery of basic computer skills (Word, Google, Email, Spreadsheets, Student Information Systems)
  • Work independently; be self-regulated and self-disciplined while following general directions in an effective manner
  • Operate all necessary program equipment including technology
  • Maintain appropriate records
  • Work effectively with all students
  • Maintain professional boundaries
  • Collaborate with all Individualized Educational Plan team members
  • Maintain punctual and consistent attendance
