“Bullfrogs capture bowl glory with 41-33 comeback win over Delhi; Robles sets Bret Harte single-game passing record with 349 yards
DELHI – Don’t tell the Bret Harte High School football team that the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section bowl games are meaningless or just a consolation prize. Bret Harte was selected to play in the inaugural bowl games by the thinnest of margins, and despite the matchup featuring two 2-8 teams, the Bullfrogs viewed the game as their championship. In a season that included four losses by 10 points or fewer, the Bullfrogs were eager to end the year on a high note, walk off the field feeling good about how the season concluded, and be excited for what’s ahead.
For the first time since 2019, the Bullfrogs picked up a victory away from their home field. However, that required erasing a 21-7 deficit midway through the second quarter. Behind a record-setting night from senior quarterback Ezequiel Robles, along with a strong fourth-quarter performance from the defense, Bret Harte finished the season with a win for the first time since 1996…”
