Congratulations to the first Student of the Semester for Bret Harte Independent Study Program, Avery Miskowski, who was honored at the Angels-Murphys Rotary luncheon today Thursday, January 22 in Murphys. The following information was shared about Avery from instructor Mr. Lane.
“I have the honor of recognizing a student who truly made me smile every time she entered the room. Avery Miskowski showed up every week with determination, curiosity, and a strong sense of responsibility for her learning. She didn’t just complete assignments—she asked thoughtful questions, pushed herself, and took pride in her work. Even when the work was challenging, Avery stayed focused and motivated, showing maturity and perseverance well beyond what is expected. Her growth this semester has been inspiring to watch, and it’s clear that the effort she put in reflects who she is as a learner and as a person. It is a pleasure to present Avery Miskowski with the Student of the Semester Award for Bret Harte Independent Study.”
