Bret Harte’s ski team turned out impressive racing times with standout performances at their third and home resort of Bear Valley, along with their fourth race at Sierra at Tahoe, showcasing both podium finishes and depth across the women’s slalom field.

Last Monday, January 26, Bret Harte racers competed in a deep field of 49 womens’ slalom skiers, with several athletes delivering top finishes. Freshman Kenan Dragomanovich led the Bret Harte pack with a stellar performance, earning second place overall with a combined time of 84.74, continuing a strong season of consistent results. Sophomore Emma Shawkey followed closely, finishing 4th place with a combined time of 88.63, demonstrating solid technical skiing across both runs. Sophomore Lois Miles placed 8th overall, posting a combined time of 97.89 and rounding out a strong showing for Bret Harte in the top ten.

The momentum carried into this past Monday February 2 at Sierra at Tahoe, where Bret Harte skiers posted competitive combined times and swept the podium. Dragomanovich finished first with a combined time of 1:44.26, leading the Bret Harte contingent. Shawkey followed in second with a combined time of 1:52.05, while Miles completed the race third with a combined time of 1:57.36.

“These results reflect the hard work, determination, and growing confidence of the Bret Harte Alpine Team as they continue to compete strongly across different venues,” shared Coach Shawkey. “Coaches and teammates alike are proud of the athletes’ efforts and look forward to building on this success in upcoming races.”
