Senior wrestlers Ryan Lee and Peyton Lawrence qualified to move onto the Sac-Joaquin Section Masters Tournament scheduled to begin this Friday, February 20 in Stockton. Masters will decide this year’s Section Champions and is the last step to qualify for the ultimate tournament, the CIF State Wrestling Championships.
Lee finished second in the 138 lb class at the Section’s D5 boys wrestling tournament, and Lawrence fourth in the 140 lb class at the Section’s girls southern regional qualifier held this past weekend in Hughson and Ceres, respectively. Matches begin at 9:00 AM on Friday, February 20, continuing through Saturday, February 21, at the Adventist Health Arena in Stockton. Bret Harte’s wrestling program has produced three individual Section Champions in its history; Hal Dillashaw in 1974 (95 lb class), Dan Dougherty in 1976 (165 lb class), and most recently Kodiak Stephens in 2020 (182 lb class).
