Senior wrestler Peyton Lawrence qualified for the 2026 CIF State Wrestling Championships scheduled to begin this Thursday, February 26 in Bakersfield. Lawrence becomes the second Bret Harte female wrestler to place at the Sac-Joaquin Section Masters Tournament and qualify for the state wrestling tournament in the school’s history, joining the ranks of Kayla Sadler who did so in 2013.
Lawrence qualified for state with a 5th place finish in the 140 lb class at the Sac-Joaquin Section Masters Tournament held this past weekend in Stockton. Ranked 14th, Lawrence defeated the 2nd ranked wrestler in her last match of the grueling two-day tournament. In 2023, she finished 8th in the 137 lb class at the same tournament. Results can be found online at https://www.flowrestling.org/nextgen/events/15267641. Senior Ryan Lee went 2-2 during the tournament and completed a historical four-year wrestling career at Bret Harte.
