Congratulations to the Students of the Month for February, Delaney Dickson and Aok “Oak” Sae-Ueng, who were honored at the Angels-Murphys Rotary luncheon yesterday Thursday, March 12 in Murphys. The following information was shared about both students.
Delaney Dickson: “Delaney played softball for four years at Bret Harte and had a great time going out for golf last fall. She is on the leadership team for Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Delaney has been an active member in FFA via showing sheep, speaker competition, and committee chair for BOAC.
Making a difference in people’s lives is important to Delaney. She has volunteered with her church in Project Love, helping clean houses and yards within the community. It will be of little surprise to hear that Delaney has volunteered coaching youth softball and has been employed as a softball official. Sharing her love for this sport.
Delaney will attend Davis & Elkins College in West Virginia where she has been presented with an athletic scholarship to play softball. She will major in a path leading to a career in teaching Special Education. Delaney keeps her focus in life by reading a bible chapter every day.”
Aok “Oak” Sae-Ueng: “Sports have been an important activity for Oak, participating in football and wrestling. He has returned his love for sports via fundraising for activities. Oak has also been active in FFA and the Outdoor Forestry Club. Oak has been chosen by his peers as Senior Class Officer and was selected as winter Homecoming King.
Oak has been described as a natural and positive leader, and this has been exhibited as his time as a Science Camp volunteer.
