Columbia Occupational Olympics featuring fire tech students with ribbons

Bret Harte was well represented at the annual Tuolumne and Calaveras County Occupational Olympics held at Columbia College last week on Thursday, April 09 in Sonora. Bret Harte’s career technical education department brought a total of 40 students to compete in automotive, culinary, digital media, and fire tech categories.

With a total of 15 students from fire tech competing, senior Carson Prescott took first place, sophomore Harmony Waite second and senior Ricky Molina third. Seniors Dan Broglio and Krit “Oak” Sae-Ueng finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

In digital media, senior Ericka High placed first. In automotive, junior Jacob Dunckel placed third with junior Rowdy Bottomley finishing fourth and senior Sean Poortinga fifth. Sophomore Khloe Siedentopf placed third in the culinary cake decorating competition.
