Paulina Vallejo, Rotary SOM for April

Congratulations to the Rotary Student of the Month for April, senior Paulina Vallejo, who were honored at the Angels-Murphys Rotary luncheon yesterday Thursday, April 16 in Murphys. The following information was shared about her.

Paulina Vallejo: “Paulina is actively involved in the Spanish Honors Society, Interact, and Friday Night Live Mentoring, and she has also participated in dance. Following her junior year, she attended Girls State. She competed in Academic Decathlon, where she earned a gold medal at the state level.

She is a member of the Calaveras Community Band and co-founded the Mark Twain Junior Band, and was featured as the “youth artist”

Paulina will attend the University of the Pacific in Stockton, where she plans to major in music education. She also is interested in the field of Spanish Language and may one day teach Spanish as well. She hopes to join a professional orchestra and teach music at the collegiate level, with the ultimate goal of returning to our small community to lead and rebuild our underfunded school music program. Her vision to give back and strengthen the very place that raised her speaks volumes about her character and sense of purpose. We can’t wait to see what Paulina does with her musical abilities as she moves through her future.
