At the April 07 monthly meeting, the Governing Board passed Resolution 2026-10 in recognition of our District’s school nutrition employees for their contributions to the District on Friday, May 01, 2026. Thank you to all our school lunch heroes – Andrea, Gloria, Karen, Kris, Laurie, and Staci – not just on May 1st but everyday!
Resolution No. 2026-10: Governing board of the Bret Harte Union High School District - In Recognition of School Nutrition Employees
WHEREAS, nutritious meals at school are an essential part of the school day; and
WHEREAS, the cafeteria staff members are committed to providing healthful, nutritious meals to the district’s students; and
WHEREAS, the cafeteria staff implemented state nutrition standards well in advance of their required implementation, and
WHEREAS, the cafeteria staff recognizes the importance of clean drinking water as part of healthy nutrition and makes it available to all students at no cost, and
WHEREAS, the cafeteria staff serves as the first line of defense in navigating student food allergies, and
WHEREAS, the cafeteria staff who prepare and serve school meals help nurture our students through their daily interaction and support; and,
WHEREAS, the food service department is an integral part of the district’s wellness program; and
WHEREAS, the day of Friday, May 1, 2026, is school lunch hero day.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Bret Harte Union High School District expresses its deep appreciation to these valuable employees and commends their good work on behalf of children.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Bret Harte Union High School District governing board at their regularly scheduled meeting held on the 7th day of April 2026.
