Congratulations to junior Mina Russell-Choi who earned the title, 2026 Calaveras Rodeo Senior Queen, this past Thursday, May 14 at Frogtown in Angels Camp.
Calaveras Rodeo Queen is a competition open to young ladies living in Calaveras County separated into two ages groups; 13 – 15 years olds in the Junior Queen and 16 – 21 in the Senior Queen. The competition began in January, and has kept contestants busy with fundraisers, parades, dinners and events. Contestants are put through written tests, horsemanship, speeches and impromptu questions.
Russell-Choi will assume the role as Senior Queen from Bret Harte classmate Gracie Anderson, the 2025 Calaveras Rodeo Senior Queen.
