Bret Harte alum, Eli Weidmann, was honored with the St. John’s University Athletics’ John T. “Doc” Gimmler Golf MVP Award earlier this month at their 80th Annual Athletic Awards Banquet in Queens, NY.
“The award is named in honor of John T. "Doc" Gimmler, a legendary figure at St. John's who spent 43 years at the university as a head trainer and later as the highly successful head coach of the men's golf team. Under his leadership, the Red Storm secured nine Big East Championships.”
