Congratulations to the second and final Rotary Student of the Semester for Bret Harte Independent Study Program, sophomore Maria Batista, who was honored at the annual Angels-Murphys Rotary barbeque yesterday Thursday, May 21 in Murphys. The following information was shared about Maria by Mr. Lane.
“It is my honor to introduce Maria Batista as our Rotary Student of the semester for Bret Harte Independent Study. Maria has flourished as an independent study student and currently boasts a 3.5 GPA. It should also be pointed out that her native language is Portuguese, and she is still learning the English language. Maria always brightens our day with her infectious smile and sense of humor. We are so proud to honor her for her hard work and dedication, and we cannot wait to see the impact she will continue to make in the future.”
