VFW District 13 named Ms Truman their Teacher of the Year for 2023. Each year, the Veterans of Foreign Wars California Districts select an educator that teaches and promotes America’s history, traditions and citizenship education effectively. District 13 is comprised of seven counties - Amador to Mariposa and San Joaquin to Merced counties. Ms Truman received this award once before in 2013.
