INCLEMENT WEATHER NOTICE: "Hello Bret Harte Families, The weather forecast this week indicates that we may have some challenging weather. I wanted to remind you of our decision-making process for school delays and closures related to weather. Our Transportation Director and administration will be monitoring weather conditions and the impact on our transportation routes. Determinations will be made as soon as possible but likely occur in the early mornings, the day of. As a District, we look to avoid canceling school whenever feasible. We know that students need the continuity of learning and scheduling makeup days can be challenging. In general, we do not cancel school unless the event directly impacts the campus in Angels Camp. However, we may cancel bus transportation to select geographic areas and will work with families when this happens. To keep students and staff safe, we will be diligent in our decision-making and send out information via email, the BH App, phone, and social media as soon as a decision is made. MEETING NOTICE: "Good Afternoon, Parent and community involvement is vital to the success of our students! The Curriculum Committee meets monthly and serves in an advisory capacity to the District's Superintendent and Governing Board in all matters of curriculum development, including revisions, additions, and/or deletions to the courses of study, as well as textbooks requested by teachers. Our next Curriculum Committee meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 21 st at 3:15pm in the Learning Center Conference Room. REMINDER: In observance of Veteran's Day, there will be no school on Monday, November 11th, 2024. Classes will resume on Tuesday, November 12th. There will also be an early release of 1:10 PM on Wednesday, November 13th for Collaborative Planning. Thursday and Friday will be normal bell schedules. FFA UPDATE: "On Wednesday, November 13th we will be holding our 3rd FFA meeting of the year which will begin at 7pm in the theater. Topics discussed at this meeting will be committee reports, Cow Pie Social wrap up, and state convention applications. Additionally we will be announcing the 2024-2025 greenhand officer team and conducting our chapter degree ceremony. The Chapter FFA degree is the highest award that we can bestow on our members and is earned during the second or third year of membership in our chapter. If you are a parent/guardian of one of the chapter degree recipients, you will receive a separate invitation email. Other events/reminders as they approach are listed below:
• MANDATORY Parent and Exhibitor meeting for all Sheep, Goats, Hogs, Poultry and Rabbit exhibitors is Wednesday 12/12 at 5:30 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room. If your student wants to show with Bret Harte FFA at Fair- they MUST attend with a parent/guardian.
• Students attending MFE or ALA have payments due 12/6 to Mrs. Sugar at the ASB window.
• The FFA community service committee is collecting cans this month to donate to the Murphys Senior Center. Canned proteins are preferred and the deadline to collect is 11/22.
