"Good afternoon Bullfrogs! We would like to welcome you to the 2023-2024 school year. Over the past few months we have been steadily preparing our campus and staff for this school year. We will kick off the school year with our New Student Orientation on Tuesday, August 15th. The New Student Orientation, is designed to support all freshmen and any other new students enrolled for the 2023/43 school year. Orientation begins at 10:00 am in the Lower Gym (big building in the middle of campus). Throughout the day, students will have a chance to reconnect with old friends, create new friendships, tour the campus and meet their teachers. Students will also have the opportunity to pay school-related fees (i.e.. PE clothes, bus pass, ASB sticker), checkout a school-issued Chromebook, and have school photos taken. The days ends with lunch and a pool party from 2:00 – 3:00pm at the Bret Harte Aquatic Center. Students who do not wish to participate in lunch and the pool can be picked up early. A parent/guardian must check out the students at the attendance window located at the Front Office. For more information, please reach out to Tyra Dragomanovich at, tdragomanovich@bhuhsd.k12.ca.us Our school year will officially begin on Wednesday, August 16th with a start time of 8:00am and end time of 3:00pm. We know that the start of any school year can be accompanied with anticipation and excitement alike. Your portrait sittings will be taken on campus Wednesday, July 26 - Friday, July 28, 2023 by appointment only. Appointments will be scheduled by Prestige Portraits. No later than the second week in July, you should have receive an email with your appointment date and time along with your unique code to confirm your pre-scheduled appointment. CLASS OF 2023: "Good afternoon, it is hard to believe, but the end of the school year is right around the corner, and for our graduating seniors, that means the end of their high school career. This is a time of reflection and celebration. One of the most cherished celebrations we have is our graduation ceremony. This year, the Bret Harte Union High School graduation ceremony will be held on Friday, June 2, beginning at 7:30pm on Dorroh Field. In order for students to participate in the Graduation Ceremony, students must first successfully meet all of the graduation requirements. Additionally, we will hold mandatory graduation practices on Wednesday, May 31, and Thursday, June 1, from 8:30am - 10:30am. In order for a student to participate in the Graduation Ceremony, students are required to attend both practices. If a student does not attend those practices, the student will not be allowed to participate in the Graduation Ceremony on Friday, June 2. Although the thought of saying farewell to our seniors comes with mixed emotions, we are thoroughly excited to celebrate their accomplishments with the collimating event of Graduation. In celebration, a Senior Pancake Breakfast for students only will take place on Wednesday before Graduation Practice at 8AM in the MPR. We look forward to seeing you there." - Jacob Holt, Principal

District-issued Chromebooks and corresponding chargers are to remain with the student for the duration of their enrollment as a Bret Harte student. Students NOT returning for the 2023/2024 school year, it's your responsibility to return your District-issued Chromebook and corresponding charger to Tech, located next to the District Office at 323 S Main Street.
