It takes place on September 10th and 12th during pond, but you do not need to come both days if you are not able to. CLASS OF 2026: Claim Jumper Day | Columbia College Field Trip - Thursday Sept. 25th 8:30am- 2:00pm. Permission slips [can be found in your Google Classroom]. I also have them in my room. Deadline to return the permission slip is Friday Sept 19th. You can turn them in in the front office if I am not in my room. Juniors are welcome to attend, but Seniors have priority. - Ms Godfrey, counselor

MEETING NOTICE: A Regular Governing Board Meeting is scheduled for Monday, September 8th, 2025 in the District Board Room 53. Closed session begins at 4:30 p.m. and open session begins at 5:30 p.m. Community members can attend closed session to comment on closed session agenda items only. TRANSPORTATION UPDATE | 2:45 PM: "Please listen carefully. Copperopolis - No bus stops at IGA or Poker Flat. Please meet your student at [the Copperopolis Town Square, located at 100 Town Square Rd. This impacts only the IGA and Poker Flat stops. All other bus stops in Copperopolis are not currently impacted.] All up the hill buses are cancelled (Murphys and Arnold). [Parent/guardians] are to pick up their students in the Lower Gym. All after school activities are cancelled. [Stay tuned for updates.]"

TRANSPORTATION UPDATE: "Good afternoon, We hope this message finds you safe and well. Due to the fire-related evacuations that have been ordered, Bret Harte transportation routes have been altered. Students that were to be dropped off in evacuated areas will instead be dropped off at Feeney Park in Murphys. Because of this change, our planned drop-off times will also be disrupted and may take longer than normal. This will be for both the regular bus routes and the late bus routes. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to the Bret Harte Transportation Office at 209-736-2067, or the Bret Harte Main Office at 209-736-8339. We hope that this will be the only alteration to our transportation schedule, but we may need to change the schedule due to continuing conditions." - Jacob Holt, principal

HOBBIT TRIVIA: Join the Learning Center's Hobbit Day Trivia Challenge on Hobbit Day - Monday, September 22 - during lunch in the library. Answer questions about The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. Prizes will be awarded for the top winning teams. It is open to all students and staff. Questions, see Mrs. Hungerford in the Learning Center.

FFA UPDATE: "Dear Parents and Guardians of Bret Harte FFA Members, You are receiving this email because your student is enrolled in an Agriculture class at Bret Harte High School. [We] want to welcome you to the FFA family by inviting you to our Red, White, and Blue themed Welcome Back BBQ dinner and meeting on Wednesday September 10, 2025. We will be hosting games for students to play beginning at 5:30pm in the Quad, barbecuing hamburgers for dinner at 6:00pm in the MPR, and holding our first FFA meeting of the year at 7:00pm in the Theater. For our first year members, we are hosting our first ever Greenhand Openhouse, which will be taking place both at Pond and after school, starting at 5:30pm. The festivity times and locations are as follows: • Games/GH Openhouse: BH Quad/Woodshop at 5:30pm • Dinner: Multipurpose Room at 6:00pm • FFA Meeting: Theater at 7:00pm
Our Greenhand Open House is dedicated to our first year members or members who may be trying to get more information to get more involved in our chapter. The Open House will consist of fun activities with the officers, as well as, informational tables on our Cooperatives (Rabbit, Sheep and Greenhouse), our judging teams, our speaking teams, and more that our program offers. If you have a student interested in showing an animal or making a project for their first year, please have them stop by our Fair Table! Students and parents are welcome to come in for information. Please join us for dinner and bring your assigned potluck item below. REMINDER: The Bret Harte Aquatic Center, located at 387 Murphys Grade Road, will be closed to the public beginning Friday, August 29 through Sunday, September 7, 2025 for repairs.
